Board game tournaments bring structure to game nights, and the competitive players love it. A Settlers of Catan championship at a board game cafe, a chess tournament at a community center, a Magic: The Gathering event at your local game shop and a Wingspan league for your meetup group all share the same fundamentals: pick a format that handles variable player counts fairly, manage your tables, track scores, and produce standings that feel earned. This guide covers format selection, table logistics, scoring, and tips specific to board game events.

Cornhole tournaments show up everywhere in the US: backyard BBQs, tailgate parties, corporate team-building events, bar leagues, church fundraisers, and competitive circuits sanctioned by the American Cornhole League (ACL). The game is dead simple to learn, works for all ages and skill levels, and a match takes about 15 minutes. That combination makes it one of the easiest sports to organize a tournament around. This guide covers format selection, lane setup, scoring, and everything else you need to run a smooth cornhole event.

Cricket tournaments are a fixture of community life across India, the UK, Australia, Pakistan, the West Indies, South Africa, and increasingly in North America and Europe. From weekend T20 events at a local ground to multi-week league seasons, the fundamentals are the same: pick a format that fits your match duration and ground availability, schedule around weather and daylight, track run-based results, and sort standings by net run rate when teams are tied on points. This guide covers the full process.

Darts tournaments are one of the easiest competitive events to organize. You need a board, an oche, and a scoring system. That's it. From weekly pub leagues to charity fundraisers to competitive bracket events, darts fits into almost any venue and any schedule. Matches are fast (15-30 minutes), setup is minimal, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. This guide covers format selection, board scheduling, legs-and-sets scoring, and everything else you need to run a smooth darts event.

Pool tournaments have a home everywhere: dive bars, billiard clubs, community centers, charity fundraisers, and corporate events. The game is simple enough that casual players can jump in, but deep enough that competitive players take it seriously. A weekly bar league, a charity 8-ball event, and a double elimination bracket at a billiard hall all follow the same process: pick a format, schedule around your tables, track race-to results, and keep things moving. This guide covers everything you need to run it well.

Basketball tournaments share the same organizational fundamentals as any sport (pick a format, schedule the matches, track results), but the specifics of court scheduling, overtime, and pool play have basketball-specific considerations. This guide covers everything you need to plan a basketball tournament from registration to final standings.
