How to Manually Adjust Standings
Manually Adjusting Standings in Score7
Sometimes a tournament calls for more than just match results to determine rankings. Whether it's bonus points for fair play, penalties for late arrival, or manual overrides for admin decisions, Score7 gives you a way to adjust the standings directly.
When to Use Manual Adjustments
Use this feature when:
- A team is awarded bonus points (e.g., attendance, tiebreaker advantage)
- A penalty is applied (e.g., rule violation)
- You need to reflect off-the-field decisions in the standings
These adjustments do not affect match results—they are applied on top of existing standings.
How to Add or Subtract Points
- Go to the Standing section in your tournament
- Click Add/Subtract Points
- Select the team you want to adjust
- Choose:
- Add points
- Or Subtract points
- Enter the number of points to modify
- Add a reason (e.g., “Late arrival penalty” or “Fair play bonus”)
- Save the adjustment
The change is applied instantly and displayed in the table with a tooltip showing the reason.
How It Affects Rankings
- Manual adjustments are added directly to the total points
- This affects standings order and tiebreakers as expected
- All other criteria (goal difference, head-to-head, etc.) remain unchanged
This ensures transparency and flexibility without compromising competition integrity.
Best Practices
- Always include a reason for manual changes (especially in public events)
- Use this feature sparingly and consistently
- Communicate any rules that could lead to bonuses or penalties in the tournament description
