How Standings Are Calculated in Score7
How Standings Work in Score7
In round-robin stages (leagues or groups), Score7 automatically calculates standings based on match results using a configurable point system and ranking criteria.
This ensures fairness and transparency throughout the tournament—especially in events where qualification depends on rankings.
Default Point System
By default, Score7 assigns:
- 3 points for a win
- 1 point for a draw
- 0 points for a loss
These values can be customized in the Overview > Tournament Settings section if your format requires a different system.
Ranking Criteria
Standings are ranked based on one or more of the following criteria:
- Points – total match points earned
- Score Difference – goals/points for minus goals/points against
- Score For – total goals/points scored
- Score Against – total goals/points conceded
- Games Played
- Number of Wins
- Winning Percentage
You can adjust which criteria are used, and in what order, at any time.
How to Customize Ranking Rules
- Go to the Standing section of your tournament
- Click Update Standing Criteria
- Drag and drop to reorder the criteria
- Toggle each criterion on/off as needed
- Choose ascending/descending direction (e.g., most points first)
All changes are applied instantly and reflected on the public tournament page.
Tie Breakers: Head-to-Head Logic
When two or more teams have the same points:
- If all tied teams have played against each other
- And each team has played the same number of matches against the others
...then Score7 automatically calculates a mini table using just those head-to-head matches to break the tie.
This mini table follows the same ranking criteria as the main standings.
Manual Adjustments
In special cases, you can:
- Override points in the match result (e.g., volleyball-specific scoring)
- Add/Subtract points manually in the Standing section (for penalties or bonuses)
To do this:
- Click Add/Subtract Points
- Choose the team, enter the adjustment, and add a reason for record-keeping
