How to Customize Tournament Rules and Description
Adding Rules and Descriptions to Your Tournament
Every tournament needs clear information—whether it's rules, location details, game formats, or contact info. In Score7, you can add this directly in the Overview section under Rules & Description.
This section appears at the top of your public tournament page and supports rich formatting to make it clear and professional.
Where to Add or Edit Rules
- Go to your tournament
- Open the Overview section from the left-hand menu
- Scroll to the Details area
- Click inside the Rules & Description box to start editing
Changes save automatically.
What You Can Include
Use this space to share anything useful with your participants or viewers, such as:
- Format details (e.g. “Top 2 teams from each group qualify”)
- Match length and tiebreak rules
- Location or venue information
- Equipment rules or scoring method
- Contact details or conduct guidelines
Formatting Tips
You can use Markdown or basic HTML to format your description.
Examples:
**Bold text**
→ Bold text*Italic*
→ Italic- Bullet lists
or1. Numbered lists
<a href="https://example.com">External links</a>
<br>
for line breaks if needed
This helps make the information easier to scan, especially for mobile users or large tournaments.
Sport Selection Note
You can also update the Sport name in this same section:
- Choose from the dropdown list
- Or type in a custom sport name and press Enter
This doesn’t affect the tournament logic, but it helps tailor the interface and determine if team or football-style features should be enabled.
Best Practices
- Keep descriptions concise but complete
- Use spacing and headings for longer rulesets
- Test how it looks on mobile for readability
- Update it anytime—even after the tournament starts
