Can I Rename Tournament Stages?
Can I Rename Tournament Stages?
No—Score7 does not currently support renaming the labels of tournament stages.
Stage names like “Group Stage”, “Knockout”, or “Double Elimination” are automatically assigned based on the format you selected when creating the tournament. These names are fixed and not editable through the interface.
Why Are Stage Names Fixed?
Score7 prioritizes:
- Clarity for participants
- Consistency across formats
- Automation of transitions between stages
Allowing custom stage names could introduce confusion—especially when automating promotions or scheduling. Keeping stages consistent ensures features like:
- Auto-advancement from group to knockout
- Correct point calculations
- Clear bracket structure
What You Can Customize Instead
While stage names are fixed, you can still customize:
- Tournament title and description
- Match rules (points, seeding, etc.)
- Number of groups and participants promoted
- Colors, logos, and URLs for your event
These adjustments provide branding flexibility without affecting the logic and clarity of the tournament structure.
Workarounds
If you need a stage to represent something unique (e.g., “Qualifier” or “Semi-Finals Pool”), you can:
- Mention this in the Rules & Description field in the Overview page
- Use visual branding and section descriptions to guide participants
