How to Add Players to Teams (and Bulk Editing Tips)
Managing Players Inside Teams
If your tournament uses teams, Score7 lets you go one level deeper—adding and managing players within each team. This is essential for tracking statistics like goals or cards, or simply for organizing detailed rosters.
This guide shows you how to manage players efficiently, whether you're adding a few names or editing entire squads at once.
Step 1: Enable Teams
If your tournament was created for a team sport, this is already enabled. If not, you can activate team mode:
- Go to Advanced in the left-hand menu
- Toggle Teams Enabled
This changes the Participants section to Teams, unlocking player-level control.
Step 2: Open the Update Players Menu
- Click on the Teams section in your tournament
- Click Update Players
- Choose a team to manage its players
Step 3: Add or Edit Players
Inside each team, you can:
- Add new player names
- Edit existing names
- Remove players
- Upload avatars or logos for each player (optional)
All changes are saved automatically as you make them.
Step 4: Use Bulk Edit for Fast Setup
For teams with long rosters, use the Bulk Edit feature:
- Inside the Update Players panel, click Bulk Edit
- Paste a list of player names, one per line
- Click Apply
This will replace the current player list for that team with the new one.
Step 5: Repeat for Each Team
You can repeat this process across all teams in your tournament. Score7 will automatically store and organize players under their respective teams.
When Player Stats Matter
If your sport is football-based (e.g. football, futsal, 5-a-side), you’ll also be able to:
- Add player-specific match stats (goals, assists, cards, MVP, clean sheet)
- View aggregated player stats in the Stats section of your tournament
These features are only available for supported sports.
Export or Import Players via CSV
To manage players at scale, especially across tournaments:
- Use the Import CSV option in the Teams section
- Or export your teams and players to CSV for reuse
This is helpful for school tournaments, recurring leagues, or organizing team rosters offline before loading them into Score7.
